Billable Targets

As the end of the year approaches, associates generally fall into three camps: (1) those who are so far above the billable hours target that they don’t even think about it and just try to survive their crushing workload by convincing themselves of the big bonus they will receive, (2) those who are so far below target that making an extra effort to hit hours makes no sense, with the time better spent polishing their resumes, and (3) those who are close to their billable target but need to make the most of each day to get there.  If you are in camp 3, go ahead and call each of your clients out of the blue to “see if there is anything they need” just to get a couple extra six minute increments in the bank.
