Fire Drills

From time to time, your supervising attorney will ask you to drop everything because of a “fire drill" (i.e., urgent client matter). The first couple times you receive a request like this, calmly walk out the emergency exit. Do not return to the office until the supervising attorney explicitly tells you it is safe to do so — no matter how long that takes. If you do that a few times in response to these requests, you will probably not have to deal with any more “fire drills.”
