One thing clients like to do to express their impatience with you via email is to write one word with excessive question marks after it (“ETA???”, “Status?????”, etc.). When you receive an email like this, I suggest replying with a short answer that includes exactly two times the number of exclamation points after the answer (“This Week!!!!!!”, “In Process!!!!!!!!!!”, etc.). I find that this makes the client feel like you are really on top of the request.
